Did you know?

Chronic kidney disease often develops gradually, and early symptoms like fatigue or swelling may go unnoticed.

Understanding Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic kidney disease is a long-term condition where the kidneys gradually lose their ability to filter waste and balance fluids in the body. This decline can result from diabetes, high blood pressure, or other underlying health issues. As kidney function worsens, toxins and excess fluids can accumulate, leading to complications such as anemia, bone disorders, and cardiovascular problems. The condition often progresses slowly, with symptoms sometimes appearing only in later stages.

Common triggers include poorly managed diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and repeated kidney infections. Managing CKD involves controlling these underlying causes, making dietary adjustments, and monitoring for complications. Early detection and consistent management are key to slowing progression. Supportive therapies may help address symptoms and improve overall well-being.

Symptoms of Chronic Kidney Disease

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of chronic kidney disease, often making daily activities more challenging. Swelling in the legs, ankles, or feet can occur as the kidneys struggle to maintain fluid balance. Muscle cramps and changes in urination patterns are also frequently reported by those living with CKD. Some people may notice difficulty concentrating or persistent nausea as the condition advances.

Symptoms can vary widely depending on the stage of kidney disease and individual health factors. In early stages, signs may be subtle or mistaken for other health issues. As kidney function declines, symptoms tend to become more pronounced and may include shortness of breath or changes in appetite. Monitoring these changes is important for timely intervention.

People with advanced CKD may experience more severe complications, such as anemia, bone pain, or cardiovascular symptoms. Immune function can also be affected, increasing susceptibility to infections. Recognizing these patterns helps guide supportive care and management strategies. Regular check-ins with healthcare providers are essential for ongoing symptom assessment.
The Greenwood Village lounge offers a relaxing space for clients before and after IV therapy sessions.

Traditional Treatments

Standard treatment for chronic kidney disease focuses on slowing disease progression and managing underlying causes like diabetes or hypertension. Blood pressure and blood sugar control are essential, along with dietary modifications to limit protein, sodium, potassium, and phosphorus intake. Medications may be prescribed to address complications such as anemia, bone health, or fluid retention. In advanced cases, dialysis or kidney transplantation may become necessary.

Ongoing monitoring and regular lab tests help track kidney function and detect complications early. Supportive therapies, including nutritional counseling and symptom management, play a key role in maintaining quality of life. Patients are encouraged to work closely with their healthcare team to adjust their care plan as needed. Education and lifestyle changes are important components of long-term management.

How IV Therapy May Help

IV therapy at The DRIPBaR provides a way to deliver hydration and essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing digestive limitations that can affect people with chronic kidney disease. This approach allows for careful control of fluid and nutrient levels, supporting energy, immune function, and overall well-being. Antioxidants and minerals are selected to help reduce oxidative stress and support tissue repair, with each infusion tailored to individual needs.

Our protocols are designed with safety in mind, especially for those with renal restrictions. All therapies are administered under medical supervision to minimize risks and ensure appropriate dosing. Clients may experience benefits such as improved hydration, reduced fatigue, and enhanced resilience. While IV therapy is not a replacement for primary kidney care, it can be a valuable adjunct to help manage symptoms and support your wellness goals.

Wow, what a top-notch experience. From the moment I walked in the door to getting my IV, slipping into the compression leggings, and topping it off with a red-light session—everything was seamless. The space is bright, clean, and professional, yet still incredibly relaxing with a spa-like feel. Dana, the nurse, was fantastic and made the whole experience so pleasant. Many thanks, Drip Bar!

I went to the DRIPBaR when I was on day four of having the Flu and they were all hands on deck to get me feeling better! Everyone was beyond friendly and so happy to help. The facility is incredibly clean and tidy and they have a large variety of offerings including red light therapy. I felt better almost immediately and even better the following day. Prices may seem high but when you’re super sick and don’t have time to be, it’s worth it IMO.
