Did you know?

Long COVID symptoms can affect multiple organ systems and may last for weeks or months after initial recovery.

Understanding Long COVID Recovery

Long COVID, also known as post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection, refers to persistent or recurring symptoms that continue weeks or months after the initial COVID-19 illness. These symptoms can impact various body systems, including the nervous, respiratory, and immune systems, leading to fatigue, cognitive changes, and physical discomfort. The underlying causes are still being studied, but may involve ongoing inflammation, immune dysregulation, or lingering viral effects. Not everyone who has had COVID-19 will develop Long COVID, and symptom patterns can vary widely.

Common triggers for symptom flare-ups include physical or mental exertion, stress, and sometimes even minor illnesses. Managing Long COVID often involves a combination of symptom monitoring, lifestyle adjustments, and supportive therapies. Approaches that focus on restoring energy, supporting immune function, and addressing neurological symptoms are frequently used. It is important to work with healthcare professionals to create a plan that fits your unique needs and to seek help if symptoms worsen.

Common Symptoms of Long Covid

Many people with Long COVID report persistent fatigue that can make even simple tasks feel overwhelming. Brain fog, or difficulty concentrating and remembering, is another common complaint that can interfere with work and daily activities. Shortness of breath and chest discomfort may linger, especially after physical activity, making exercise or even walking more difficult.

Muscle aches, joint pain, and headaches are also frequently described by those experiencing Long COVID. Some individuals notice heart palpitations, dizziness, or sleep disturbances that disrupt their normal routines. Mood changes, such as anxiety or depression, can develop as a result of ongoing symptoms and uncertainty about recovery.

Other symptoms may include gastrointestinal issues like nausea or diarrhea, as well as changes in taste or smell. The intensity and combination of symptoms can fluctuate over time, sometimes improving and then returning unexpectedly. Recognizing these patterns and seeking support can help manage the impact on daily life.

Traditional Treatments

Traditional treatment for Long COVID focuses on managing symptoms and supporting gradual recovery. This may include physical rehabilitation, breathing exercises, and medications to address specific complaints such as pain or sleep disturbances. Psychological support is often recommended to help with mood changes and coping strategies.

Healthcare providers may suggest lifestyle modifications, such as pacing activities and prioritizing rest, to avoid symptom flare-ups. Integrative therapies, including nutrition support and gentle exercise, are sometimes used alongside conventional care. Because Long COVID affects each person differently, individualized treatment plans are essential. Ongoing communication with healthcare professionals helps ensure that care is adjusted as symptoms change.

How IV Therapy May Help

For those experiencing ongoing symptoms after COVID-19, IV therapy offers a way to deliver nutrients and hydration directly to the bloodstream. This approach can help replenish depleted stores, support immune balance, and promote neurological and physical recovery. By providing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in a controlled setting, IV therapy may help reduce fatigue and brain fog while supporting the body’s natural healing processes. All sessions are supervised by licensed nurses to ensure safety and comfort.

The DRIPBaR’s services are tailored to each individual, with protocols designed to address the unique challenges of Long COVID. Regular sessions can help stabilize energy levels and support resilience, especially for those struggling to return to their usual routines. While IV therapy is not a cure, it can be a valuable part of a broader recovery plan. Consulting with your healthcare provider is recommended to determine if this approach fits your needs.

Wow, what a top-notch experience. From the moment I walked in the door to getting my IV, slipping into the compression leggings, and topping it off with a red-light session—everything was seamless. The space is bright, clean, and professional, yet still incredibly relaxing with a spa-like feel. Dana, the nurse, was fantastic and made the whole experience so pleasant. Many thanks, Drip Bar!

I went to the DRIPBaR when I was on day four of having the Flu and they were all hands on deck to get me feeling better! Everyone was beyond friendly and so happy to help. The facility is incredibly clean and tidy and they have a large variety of offerings including red light therapy. I felt better almost immediately and even better the following day. Prices may seem high but when you’re super sick and don’t have time to be, it’s worth it IMO.
